Delhi High Court finds BJP/Congress GUILTY of foreign funding

The landmark judgment by the Delhi High Court holding the Congress and the BJP guilty of taking foreign funds in violation of the Foreign Contribution (Regulation) Act has exposed the deep rooted nexus between these parties and corporate houses. The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) congratulates the Association for Democratic reforms on its victory which will go a long way in strengthening the process of electoral The High Court found the Congress and BJP guilty of accepting donations from the subsidiaries of Vedanta Resources, a company registered in England and Wales. It is to be noted that Vedanta is the same company to whom huge benefits have been bestowed by these two parties. Both the Congress and the BJP have taken donations running into several crores of rupees from foreign companies. The court also rejected the stand taken by ministry of home affairs for saying that FCRA has not been violated. It is shocking that the home ministry made a desperate and unsuccessful attempt to defend both the Congress and the BJP before the court, despite the fact that these parties have been regularly hiding from where more than 80% of their sources of funds. The High Court has now directed the home ministry of taking action against the Congress and the BJP within six months. The judgment raises serious questions on the role of the home ministry and would Mr Sushil Kumar Shinde who loves to speak on variety of issues now explain how his ministry took such a stand ?
Given below is the operative part of the judgment, which exposes Mr Shinde, the Congress and the BJP : The response by the Union of India which was supported by the Respondent No.3 (Congress) and Respondent No.4 (BJP) being found to be based on a wrong understanding of the law, we dispose of the writ petition issuing two directions. The first direction would concern the donations made by State Trading Corporation of India and Metals and Minerals Corporation of India shown in the books of accounts of the Respondent No.3 in respect whereof the stand taken is that the donations were actually made to National Students Union of India (NSUI) and that inadvertently the two donations were entered in the accounts of Respondent No.3. The first and the second respondent would investigate the matter with respect to the justification given to find out whether the same is a stray incident and possibly a mistake or otherwise. Depending upon the decision taken further action would be taken as per law. The second direction would concern the donations made to political parties by not only Sterlite and Sesa but other similarly situated companies/corporations. Respondents No.1 and 2 would relook and reappraise the receipts of the political parties and would identify foreign contributions received by foreign sources as per law declared by us hereinabove and would take action as contemplated by law. The two directions shall be complied within a period of six months from date of receipt of certified copy of the present decision.”
The AAP stands committed for complete transparency in the funding of political parties and has put all its donations on the party website. Despite this, the party has faced motivated and wild allegations, which it has strongly countered and will continue to work for clean funding in politics.The Congress and the BJP need to answer about their sources of funds and no amount of malicious campaign against the AAP, in which even the home ministry’s role is not above board, will reduce their dubious funding sources.www.yougets.com

Saharanpur, UP: Imran Masood, the Congress candidate from Saharanpur in West Uttar Pradesh who was filmed declaring that he will kill Narendra Modi, was arrested from his residence around 4 am today.A criminal case was registered against him yesterday after a video of him threatening to "chop Modi to pieces" went viral on the web. Apologising for his comments yesterday, he told NDTV, "I meant that I would teach him a lesson."Hours after his arrest, Congress Vice President Rahul Gandhi's rally was cancelled in Saharanpur. He was to campaign for Mr Masood today.Condemning Mr Masood's remarks, senior party leader Digvijaya Singh had said yesterday that the comments should not go unpunished. An FIR or First Information Report accused Mr Masood, 40, of violating the election code of conduct, but it was not clear when and where the comments were made.The police say they received the video CD on Thursday. Mr Masood claims he spoke those words eight months ago, when he was with the Samajwadi Party. In the CD, Mr Masood says, "I am a man of the street, ready to give my life for my people. I am neither afraid of death or of killing. He thinks this is Gujarat. There are only 4% Muslims in Gujarat. There are 42% Muslims here."Senior BJP leader Arun Jaitley said the comments reflect a mindset that believes "abusing Modi is an expression of aggressive secularism." He also referred to Sonia Gandhi's "Maut Ka Saudagar (merchant of death)" barb in 2007 against Mr Modi. Mr Modi, 64, is contesting his first parliamentary election from Varanasi, 800 km away in India's largest and most politically vital state. In his speech, Mr Masood warns the BJP leader against "turning Uttar Pradesh into Gujarat."  Mr Modi's critics accuse him of not doing enough to stop the 2002 riots that tore through his Gujarat. A Supreme Court inquiry has said there is no evidence of Mr Modi's alleged collusion in the violence; a local court upheld that report recently. www.yougets.com

Narendra Modi, Bhupinder Singh Hooda snatching land from farmers: Arvind Kejriwal

Hitting out at Narendra Modi and Haryana Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda, AAP chief Arvind Kejriwal on Friday alleged they were snatching land from farmers and giving it to industrialists.
Kicking off a three-day roadshow in Haryana from Dhansa Border here, he alleged, "Haryana CM is snatching farmers' land and giving it to Robert Vadra and Mukesh Ambani.
Everybody (politicians) used to fear raising voice against them, but it was I who raised voice against the fraud committed by Vadra and CM."
Kejriwal also alleged that Vadra and Hooda were "looting" the people of Haryana.
The Haryana government and Chief Minister Hooda have denied these allegations.
"Many persons advised me not to raise voice against Vadra's fraud as he belongs to a prominent family, but I brought corruption, committed by him and Hooda, to light without caring for of my life," he said while addressing a gathering in Badli village after entering Haryana.
Kejriwal also slammed BJP prime ministerial candidate Modi and said, "I went to Varanasi and found that there is no Modi wave. Modi is afraid of me. That's why he was fighting from two seats.
"If Modi has guts, he should only contest elections from Varanasi from where I have decided to fight," he said.
The AAP chief also said that the time has come to teach Congress and BJP a lesson.
"Your vote can change the system this time. It is AAP only which can change the system. BJP and Congress leaders are the same side of a coin," he said.
"I went to Gujarat where I found that Modi was also snatching farmers' land and giving it to Ambani and Adani During Gujarat visit, a farmer told me that the cost of his land was Rs 50 lakh per acre, but Modi's government forcefully grabbed his land by paying him just Rs 1 lakh per acre." Kejriwal also said that these days, Congress leaders are leaving their party and joining BJP which shows that there is no difference between both the parties. www.yougets.com
